A waterproof, breathable 3-layer shell built to handle full-bore Pacific Northwest weather — sideways rain, river crossings, and ridge-line wind. 28k mm hydrostatic, fully taped seams, and a helmet-compatible hood that doesn't blow off your head when it actually matters.
Every Cascade Shell starts as a sample we wear for a full PNW winter — Olympic Peninsula coast, Mount Si trail in November, deck-side in Tacoma when the gutter is just streaming. If a seam darkens, a zipper sticks, or the hood collapses in a gust, the pattern goes back to redesign before the production run.
By the time it ships, it has done a couple of hundred hours in the wet. Yours will too.
